Renaming, moving or Deleting a remote file in a Contribute site in Macromedia Dreamweaver

Deleting a file from the remote server that hosts a Contribute site works just like deleting a file from the server for a site in Macromedia Dreamweaver. However, if you delete a file in a Contribute site, Macromedia Dreamweaver asks if you want to delete all old versions of the file. If you want to keep older versions of Macromedia Dreamweaver, a copy of the current version so you can restore it later.

The name of an external file or move it from one folder to another in a Contribute site works similarly to the method works in a Macromedia Dreamweaver. Rename a Contribute site, Macromedia Dreamweaver or to move the corresponding versions of the previous file that is stored in files _baks.

If you delete an external file:

Select the file in the Remote Files panel (Window> Files), then press the Backspace key (Windows) or Delete (Macintosh).

When deleting previous versions option in the dialog box to confirm the following:

To delete all previous versions of the file and the current version, select the Delete Rollback versions.

If you have earlier versions on the server, click the Delete option to leave earlier.

The file is deleted. If you choose to remove previous versions, they will be deleted. If you choose not to remove previous versions, kept a copy of _baks the current version in the folder as a new file revision.

Displaying Run Command on Windows 7

4. After that on the right panel, double click "Add the Run Command at the Start Menu" until a window like below come into view.

5. Then choose enabled

6. Then Click OK or Apply

7. Close gpedit window

Now, make sure the Run Command already on the Menu Start.

Change Command Prompt Title

Windows is still reliable to setup mutually with DOS commands or command prompt awaiting Windows Vista and Windows 7 (Beta) still using it. Unfortunately, the command prompt display also still “reliable” with its standard title, namely C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe. If you are get bored with the same title when using command prompt you can change it with a suitable title.

In default, the display of the command prompt title is C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe , similar to the screenshot below.

To Change it follow the given steps below.

1. Click Start >> Run >> type in “cmd” then press OK or ENTER awaiting command prompt windows come into view.

Autorun Function Disable in your computer

Most of the CD-ROM that sale is prepared with autorun.inf file. Every computer will run all command that being found in the file.

If you do not want your computer run that program automatically, there are two steps:

First step:

Press Shift Button on keyboard when you insert the CD-ROM into CD device.

Second Steps:

1. Go to Start Button> Setting> System> Device Manager.

2. Click on “+” beside CD-ROM picture.

3. Click on the CD-ROM name. Example, MyCD.

4. Click on properties option below.

5. Click setting. Uncheck the “Auto Insert Notification”.

6. After that, your computer will not run any program from CD-ROM automatically.

Increase Virtual Memory in Computer

We are frequently working while watching to video or operation additional application to save time. Run application at the same time can cause computer out of memory. We often find that computers show a message what is called the "low memory” or “Virtual Memory Low” Where the remaining memory ability is low.

Occasionally we are adding a RAM to computer for solves this problem. But it is not a good solution because besides we need to deal with a hardware we need to spend some money to buy the new RAM.

Here are other ways that can we do is build a Virtual Memory, in which the operating system will assign part of the contents of our hard drive to become extra memory to computer. Allocation of part of the contents of our hard drive is called Paging File.

Here are the steps to increase Virtual Memory on our computer:

1. Right Click on My Computer. Now “System Properties” window is appears

2. Click the tab “Advance” and then on box “performance”, Click “setting” now “Performance Options” window is appears.

3. On the “Performance options” window, choose the tab “Advanced”, like the screenshot below.

4. Then on the box “Virtual Memory”, Click “Change”, then will appear the list of disks in our computers, like screenshot below.

5. Then choose on of the drive for the place of the Virtual Memory that we will create. Choose the different drive with the system drive location. Then click on the “Custom Size”.

6. Insert a value in the Initial size and Maximum size in MB. As a guideline, for the Initial size value, RAM capacity is multiplied by 1.5. As for the value of Maximum size, RAM capacity multiplied by 3. For instance, our RAM capacity is 512MB, so the value on the Initial size is 756MB, for maximum size is 1512MB.

7. Make sure it still has a free space on hard disk to accommodate Virtual Memory that we create.

8. Then click OK, then OK, and OK again.

9. Done, and then make sure our computer performance become improved or speed if compared before.

Connect Your PC from Remote location

Using the Remote Desktop feature, you can connect your pc (host) from any other remote pc (client) and can access all computer resources (installed programs, data and any network resources). You can run any computer application on the remote computer as you were running actually sitting in front of pc.

Follow the given steps to configure your pc to connect remote pc:

To use this feature, you will need to be logged into your pc with administrative rights.

To perform this task, first make sure your both computers are connected to the internet.

First you have to configure the host computer that allows the users to connect it remotely. On the host computer, right click on "My computer" and click on Properties option.

Under the Remote tab, select the option "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer" and click Ok button.

At this time you get the IP address of host computer (type the "ipconfig /all" on the command prompt of host computer to find IP address).

Now make a connection on remote or client computer, click on Start button, go to All Programs> Accessories, and Communications, then click on Remote Desktop Connection, option. A Remote Desktop Connection, dialog box will appear.

Click on Options button for detail configuration, under the General tab, type the IP address of host computer in the Computer box and also type username and password of host computer then click on Connect button to make a connection to remote computer.

If your username and password is correct then a remote desktop windows will appear

Share an internet connection on LAN

You can share internet through LAN within some clicks. I realized that the network is broadband, and create an account on the computer. Go to "My Network Places" properties, and then choose a broadband connection. Now right click and select Properties. You have now the case of Broadband Properties dialog box to light. Select "Advanced".

At the present check “Allow other network users to connect through this computer" internet connection” and uncheck fewer than two options. At this time press “OK” button. This will show you a message stating that IP address of here working computer will be set to “192.168.0.1”, click OK. If you allocated this address to any other computer after that change it to a tiny else if not it will give IP address conflict error.

Now you should able to browse.

When Your Printer's Buffer Overflows........

Yes, the printer isn't perfect. When you give the printer more load than it can "remember" from it's memory buffer, it will either hang, stop, pause or abort the print and give you an error message. Here are a few ways to fight the problems.

Compress

From experience, I found out that a printer seldom or never encounter any buffer overflow from printing text. Rather, it is graphic files (up to 5 MB at a time) that crashes the printer. If you are printing multipage when you get errors, print one at a time. It may be painstaking but it sure beats having an error message. Now if a huge graphic file still makes your printer's buffer overflow, try to compress the current format you are using. If you are using Photoshop, save it as a normal or "flatten" (without layers) to lower the file size. You might want to try using GIF or JPEG. JPEG is a high-color compression method that can reduce up to 90% less. But saving in this format can be "lossy" (image looks a bit different than the original). I prefer GIF. Although the file size may be bigger in high-colors, but it looks better.

Go For The Upgrade

Most printers allow you to upgrade the memory. The more memory, the less buffer overflow. This is the best solution. Go to your nearest computer dealer to ask for a memory upgrade. Make sure they can get the exact company and model. It might cost a bit but hey, that's what upgrades are for!

Fighting Unknown Problems

Hardware problems are quite difficult to tackle, worse if under Windows. There was once when installing a software, I accidentally inserted the Audio hardware diskette. Thinking it was harmless, I went on, thinking I can always "undo" everything again. How wrong was I. The next moment I restarted Windows, I got the blue screen of death. Yeah, Windows is very nasty when it comes to hardware.

Find The Culprit

Always calm down. Try to solve the problem yourself before resolving to formatting or sending to your computer dealer. First, know what's happening and the cause of it. In my case, the installation must have overwrite my old setting and replaced the wrong file. There must be a reason why Windows is acting improperly.

Logging Back On

First, try to log back on. If you can't log into Windows, don't panic. Restart the computer. When the text "Starting Windows 98..." appears, press F8. A menu will appear. Choose "Safe Mode" to continue. Safe mode will take some time to load. When you are in Windows, go to Control Panel, System. Click on the Device Manager tab. Find the faulty hardware driver and delete it. Open autoexec.bat and config.sys (both are hidden files in your root directory) with notepad. If the hardware is a CD-ROM or sound card, it will probably write add some lines. Check whether there are backup file (autoexec.bak, autoexec.b~k e.g.) since most installation will back up the 2 important files. If there is, simply replace them with the backup files. If there isn't, put "REM " in front of every line that loads the hardware.

Repairing

When you restart, your computer is probably ok, since you have deleted all instances of the hardware drivers. But the hardware isn't functioning. re-install the hardware drivers, restart and you're done! If the problem persists, your probably have a system conflict go to the next page for more.
